The Halfway House refers to a place where people with mental disorders can stay. The Halfway House generally allows people to begin the process of reintegration with society, while still providing monitoring and support. It is a place where residents are asked to continually comply with a recovery program. Psychiatric patients can learn to be independent and are prepared to return to the community with professionals’ assistance. |

Admission Eligibility |
- Patients’ mental conditions remain stable and are unlikely to inflict injury to themselves and others
- Patients agree to live in the Halfway House, or a consent has been signed by one of their family members
- Patients are willing to receive psychiatric treatment
- Patients do not have severe medical or surgical illness
- Patients possess the motivation and ability to work and are capable of participating in rehabilitation programs or going out to work
- Patients can take care of themselves in daily life
- Patients are between the ages of 20 and 60

Referral Procedures |
- Receive a referral from a psychiatric hospital or a clinic
- Psychiatrists carry out an assessment and refer the case to social workers for further assessment
- Social workers perform an assessment:(1) Those who meet the criteria: Complete the Halfway House admission procedures and receive various rehabilitation activities provided by the Halfway House
(2) Those who do not meet the criteria: Referral to other social resources
